OMG this happened to me too! The big one for me was the bird cage card box. I had a pretty bird cage, and I bought a little bird to sit on top of it. I super-glued the bird's feet to the cage so it wouldn't fall off. But apparently the BODY fell off the LEGS and nobody fixed it! So in my photos there is a really pretty bird cage with these terrible morbid amputated bird legs stuck right on top! No idea where the bird ended up. I can't imagine what the guests thought. When I saw it in the photos I was laughing and crying at the same time!
@snmc I am laughing hysterically over here at that mental image! hahahhaha! and @ worcester - same thing happened here. Thing is, nobody else knew you had more napkins so its not too much of a cuase for stress. The candle Id be upset about. But yes, same thing happened on my end
LOL still laughing at "So in my photos there is a really pretty bird cage with these terrible morbid amputated bird legs stuck right on top!"
LOl I'm cracking up at that too! Surly someone would have noticed and tried to fix it?! Oh well, at least it's funny and not *terrible*. Still laughing, though.
My SIL complained for weeks about little details that didn't happen. I kept telling her that yes they did happen. So when the photos came out I searched for those little details to prove that yes they had been done. Hope now she has some peace of mind.
Too funny about the little birdie. Did you guys see the article about the wedding crashers that stole the bird cage with all the cards in it? Crazy!
lol. bird legs. I love it - please tell me you have a photo to share!
LMAO about the bird legs. Good for you for having such a great sense of humour about it.
@worcesterbride: you're not crazy. I think it's normal to notice all those little details especially since you spent all that time planning yoru wedding. At least though they were small enough details that you didn't notice while the wedding was going on.
hehehehe, just the legs, that is sooo funny! That's awesome that you can laugh about it.
I'm at work and I just started cracking up..haha bird legs... haha
i am cracking up too about the bird legs as well!! LMBO!!
Right after the wedding, all I could think about were the little details that hadn't happened but in the past month and a half, those details are fading.
I totally understand your dissapointment but try to let them go so that your wedding memories will be full of the good things.
@snmcdowell! Oh that is awful and hilarious at the same time!
I haven't seen all my photos yet so I'm not sure what I'll find!
ME TOO!!!! If I could re-do the day, there are a million little things I would fix- Trust me, a million!! But, since it's done, I just focus on all the fabulous things that we did have.
Hmm... this reminded me that I never ordered custom cocktail napkins.
OhMyGOSH at the little bird!!!!!!!!!
oh my gosh! i have a great mental image of that poor little bird! please share a picture of it! i think the amputated birdie has stolen this post!
but seriously...i have been looking at all the photos fr. past family members weddings and i have been catching a lot of little mistakes here and there. like family members missing in the family pictures or the bride having a few posed pics with her veil all messed up... but gotta let it go!
lol yes the vision of the bird has over run this post!
But I guess seeing that some of these things didn't get noticed during the actual day shows that you shouldn't worry about things being perfect and just enjoy the day!
Sorry everybody, my photographer's photos are strongly copyrighted and he won't allow me to post them here (boo!) and the emancipated bird legs were in one of his photos. But trust me, it is as funny as you would imagine it to look!

So I just got my photos back, and don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that they're here... and it's been great to relive the day and be reminded of lots of moments I had forgotten.
But I'm also finding that there are several things that went wrong/not according to my vision that I didn't even notice until I saw them in the photos. For instance, I got monogrammed napkins in our colors, pink and gray, for the cocktail hour - but only the gray napkins were put out, and the gray napkins on the brown bar with no other color looked pretty drab... and the money for the pink napkins was a waste!
Also, the groom's parents were supposed to light a memory candle on the altar in memory of their parents at the beginning of the ceremony, before my processional... but in the pictures, I see the lit candle in the empty church, and no pictures of the groom's parents going up to the altar... I'm assuming that they just took their seats, since it was already lit.
There are a few other things, too... the caterers used a bunch of big, cheesy-looking greek pillars as "decor" during cocktail hour, the ringbearer wore the straight tie that came with his rental tux rather than the little-boy-sized bowtie I bought for him to match the GMs, a bunch of other things like that.
Anyway, none of it is a very big deal, and it's all in the past anyway, but it's weird to find out two months later that a bunch of stuff went not-according-to-plan. Did this happen to anyone else? Tell me I'm not crazy!
