We did a tasting at Fusions Catering on Tuesday night and were completely blown away - especially because they were the least expensive proposal we got back!

Thanks aplusb! I'll give them a call and request a proposal. Does anyone else have other suggestions?
Although we're not having a reception in this country anymore, we got quotes from the Martin's franchise of around $77/per person for a buffet style dinner and a cocktail hour with quite a few appetizers, open bar included, and there was some percentage that went for fees I don't remember exactly... but for 350 people it was around $33k including all the various fees... if you're just catering the food and you don't need a reception venue then I imagine it should be a lot less.
Compared to some of the other places I've asked quotes for ($100-$200/pp) it seems very reasonable. There are a bunch of locations is this area, I actually went to the Greenbelt MD one.... can give you more details if interested :)
Don't know if you're still looking for a caterer, but we booked ours a couple of weeks ago and they're called Better Events Catering in Chantilly. They are amazing! We went in for a tasting and were blown away! The presentation, the food, the service were all top notch and extremely affordable.
We had a private tasting at their showroom, with soft music, a beautifully decorated table...a tuxedoed waiter came out and poured us wine, served us like 6 or 7 appetizers, 2 different salads, and 4 entree items with sides. I'm sure they would have thrown in dessert but we didn't ask for it in our proposal because we're serving wedding cake as dessert. There was so much food we took home the leftovers and it was even better the next day! We signed the contract then and there.
Roberto and his staff are amazing. You should check them out www.betterevents.com You will not be disappointed! Let me know how it goes!
I just realized we have the same wedding date (yay but...hmmm) Not sure if they do more than 1 event per day, but I still think you should check them out.
One of the best caterers on a budget EVER in the DC area: BasiKneads! I adore them, their food and their staff. Check them out here: http://www.basikneads.com. Let them know Invited Event Design and Production sent you! Hope this helps!

Hi everyone,
I need your help!
I'm in search for my caterer. I've been blowing my budget on the venue, photographer, Church... and I can't do it again with the catering. Does anyone have any recommendations for some of the cheaper caterers in the area? We would like to have a seated dinner and a cocktail hour.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!
