And I am so thrilled with what I read. We have to settle on a few items before I sign it but they did give me a 10% discount p/p and they upgraded me to a few things: sparkling wine toast, linens and overlays. I cannot wait for a tasting. I hope the food is good.
Question: how many of you signed a contract with your caterer and went back in and were able to change things? Or did you make sure to discuss EVERYTHING first and then sign? Also I don’t want to sign until I taste their food but it looks like I might have to… however, with how incredibly accomodating they have been, I am sure if I don’t like something they will change it to satisfy my tastes.

My caterer allowed me to make changes up to 2 weeks before the wedding as long as the total cost would be greater than or equal to the cost in the contract. However, I’d check with your caterer before signing the contract to make sure they will accomodate changes. If possible, get a written statement (either in the contract or in an email) from your caterer that they will allow you to change your menu. Changing the menu shouldn’t be a problem, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Well I signed the contract and paid the 50% deposit today. Now we’re wating to make an appointment for the tasting and to talk some more about the contract. Changes can be made, but nothing that will affect the total or price (making them lower). I am so excited. I can’t believe I finally have a caterer.
I do still have to pick the kinds of apps I want and choose between salad or veggies. YAY!
