I’ve been to Sun in My Belly’s restaurant several times, and they’re really very good. They use fresh ingredients and have a lot of creative, flavorful dishes. I’ve never tried their catering, but I’m sure the same team is behind both.

I LOVE Affairs to Remember, but they can be pretty pricey.

I interviewed Dana and she was AWESOME!

I actually ended up booking my reception at Emory, but I was going to have it at Magnolia Hall, so I had that list as well.

I’ve also been to a wedding that they catered and LOVED the food.  Very delish!

We’re using Affairs and they have been nothing short of amazing to work with. We’re working with Don and he has been willing to work with every request and exceed our expectations. They can be a little pricy depending on what you want to do, but if our tasting last week was any indicator of what to expect, it will be extremely tasty.

Do you guys mind if I ask what "pricey" means to you per person? I know it’s such a subjective term, and I’m curious as to about where they fall. If that’s too personal, please disregard! 🙂

We’re getting married at Magnolia Hall in November, so we have the same caterer constraints that you do. We met with several of the caterers, and although they were all great and seemed very ‘together’, we were blown away by Endive. Chef Drew put together an amazing tasting for us (on very late notice) and everything was delicious. He sat with us during the interview and talked a bit about his experience in the business and his approach to food…something we didn’t see at any of the other caterers, where we just met with a ‘representative.’ One of my favorite aspects of his catering is that they cook the food almost to completion and finish cooking on site, as opposed to cooking everything beforehand and just warming it up when they get there. We’ve been working with Kim for all the business issues, and she’s very friendly and super responsive. I’m sure your wedding will be great regardless of whom you go with, but I can’t recommend Endive enough.

As for costs, for 3 passed hors d’oevres, a cheese table, 3 entress, and a late night snack, the cost is $35 pp (cutting of outside cake is included). Rentals are priced separately, so the total bill ends up being about $70 pp.

And just in case they didn’t mention it, if you find someone you love who’s not on their list of approved caterers, you can pay a $500 fee to use them. If their costs are a lot lower, it may end up being cheaper in the long run to go that route. Sorry so long…but hope it helps

DCBride, that sounds like a wonderful caterer!! What do you mean when you say "rentals" though? Is that for extra things you’re getting, or for the basics that you’re pretty much required to have?

Thanks for the tip!

I’ve had food from Proof of the Pudding.  Very good!

Smoke – I don’t have my proposal here with me, but "rentals" includes everything but food: dishes, cutlery, linens, glassware, barware (even though Magnolia Hall handles the bar, you still have to provide the barware), etc. So basically, all the things you have to have. I forgot to mention that the $70pp also includes all the servers, etc. (We talked about adding an extra hour, I can’t remember if we ended up doing it or not, so that *might* reduce the cost.) Kim’s email address is [email protected].

You should condiser the World Trade Center Atlanta. They did a great job at my wedding! The value for the price is unbeatable!

I have used a Divine Event for several corporate events in the past. I highly recommend them (quality service and food), and they are pretty reasonably priced.
