I’m not in love with my dress shape and I thought i would be. Its an A line with a short torso like top, but I do love the drama of the cathedral train. I had gotten a two tiered elbow length veil, but then also ordered a one tiered cathedral veil. Now i’m wondering, is a cathedral veil and train too much? Let me know what you think and post pics if you have them, thanks!

I am going to have a cathedral length gown + cathedral veil. I have no photos to show you of my wearing both at the same time because I haven’t picked up my dress. But I think it is okay to wear both. Maybe I am strange…. I find wearing a fingertip or elbow length veil with a cathedral train look odd to me 🙂

I had a cathedral train and veil, so obviously I didnt think it was too much. And I got married in a park!

Beautiful! I think my hang up is that i’m so short (5’2″) so it all feels sooo long. But I love the drama of it all! Maybe I’ll use both veils together. Hmmm so many decisions!

I think you SHOULD have a cathedral length veil with a train that long. I’m with Big that the proportions look off with a shorter veil.

I’m 5’3″, wore a chapel train with cathedral veil.

This is the back of my gown. It is actually a monarch lenth (about a foor less than a royal) and rather than covering up the amazing detailing with a cathedral length veil, I will actually be wearing an fingertip lenth. My mom is making it right now so I don’t have a picture but don’t feel that you HAVE to have a cathedral length veil! Its whatever combo you like!

Can I revive this thread for 2012?! I would love to see some cathedral length trains and veils!

@toasty: I had a cathedral-length veil, but my train was more chapel length. Not sure if this counts toward what you wanted to see:

I’m not sure what cathedral length gowns look like, but here is my gown and train with cathedral veil.

Glad to see this was resurrected! I am thinking cat buying a gown with a cathedral train (which is plain, save for the crystallized buttons down the back) and I’m wondering if a cathedral length veil with some lace or detail would be too much. I won’t thread-jack so I’ll pose this on another post…
