Is anyone by chance planning a Catholic Mass Wedding & is using "LifeTeen" / contemporary praise & Worship music in their ceremony? & by chance are you in Florida? also out of curiosity what songs specifically are you having played? sorry for so many questions. Any advice would help too. Thanks. =)

I had the traditional classical songs at my wedding, so I can’t help you there.
Why are you wondering? Are you trying to decide what songs to pick from the LifeTeen music, or just wondering if anyone else is using the same as you?
p.s. post also moved to the Catholic board, as people here may be more familiar with this music.

Idealy what I would like is a contemporary praise & worship music played throughout our ceremony mass, just like at a LifeTeen mass. My husband & I LOVE praising God through music, it is such a HUGE part of both our personalities & in our relationship. I guess it really depends upon the church, each Catholic church has their own set of "rules" we are in no position yet to sit down with a priest, we just got into a conversation in general about weddings & weddings in the church … & we got really curious. We have not been married in the church & would like too. but sharing it with friends & family instead of in private with a priest.
as I was writting my question I started to think to myself "well what if they do allow contemporary songs, so as long as they do not get too contemporary .. .for example: songs like: Breath, we are one body, fragrance prayer, your love is extravagent. . . songs like that I would think would be ok, but I wasn’t sure, so then I figured I’d propose the other questions on if anyone has been successful could they tell me what songs specifically they had at their ceremony, thinking their songs would give me leads on what artists & songs to look into. with similar styles." I was doing some "googling" & really havn’t found anything solid. but I have found that some churches are alot more laid back than others. some churches are so strict they do not even allow the traditional "wedding march" because it is actually "secular music" (rolling eyes), but whatever . … worse case senario we will have to stick with the old school, Catholic hymnal stuff. (yawn), thats another thing. I thought it would be cool to have a contemporary song played as our "exit song" too. oh well…. we will cross that bridge when we get to it. 😉

I am Catholic but my man is not a practising Catholic and we both want to have an outdoor ceremony so we will either be having a friend who is a minister, my cousin who is a (very cool) priest (but I don’t know that it’s allowed for him so he may just do a blessing for us) or a JP.
One of my best friends, her brother & his wife and two friends have an amazing Christian rock band, we are using some of their songs for our wedding, but check them out & see if you like any of their songs. I am not "hard-core" Catholic, I have friends from many different denominations that I go to church with and Pat & Anji are those kinds of people too, so check them out, see if you find anything that would work for you. http://www.harvestbloom.net/
