Hi Bees!

Does anyone have any advice on choosing one of the catholic churches in North Lake Tahoe?  Our reception will be in Truckee, so we can either have the ceremony at Assumption or at St. Francis Assisi in Incline Village (we have spoken to both churches).  We are currently in Chicago so it's technically a destination wedding even though we're moving to CA next year.  

Anyway, St. Francis Assisi is GORGEOUS but expensive and a little further from the reception site.  I'd also prefer to be married in California...

Assumption Truckee just moved into their new church building, but I can't seem to find any pictures other than one on their website.  They also have the mission church in Kings Beach, which would be the best location, but I can't find pictures or info from ANY ceremonies that have taken place there.

So any info, pictures, opinions, etc. would be SO helpful!  We won't be back in California to visit them ourselves before we need to make our decision.

I am in the exact same situation.  We will be married in Tahoe in September, and would like a church wedding.  I have found what you said to be true.  Assisi IS gorgeous and I can't find information on the other 2 churches besides what's on their website.  

Were you able to find anymore information out about the Assumption churches?

@JBelle1Z:  Assumption in Truckee was a gorgeous new building but it had a rather large mural of the Assumption behind the altar that we found rather... distracting.  We ended up booking St. Francis of Assisi.  It's gorgeous, but I'm still sour about the price and the 2:00 ceremony time... how about you?
