Our older kitten did a lot of hiding when we first brought him home, but neither of them hide at all any more.  In fact, they follow us around the apartment and don’t even seem to like being alone, ever.

Here is the older one peeking out from under the covers during his first week here:

Last week they napped together in the living room:

lol!  I knew right where to look, that used to be my kitty’s favorite spot too!  I would look all over my apartment for her and she would be on top of my cabinets.  They are just too much!

@ElbieKay:  Your kitties are beautiful!

@mab3015:  Thanks!  They are almost 7 and 5 months old.  We have had one since Oct and the other since Dec.  I have never had a cat before because I’m allergic, but my husband loves cats so we found a hypoallergenic breed.  I am totally smitten with them!

@ElbieKay:  Are they Siberian?  Has it really helped your allergies?  My FI is VERY allergic, but I had my cat before he came around, so the kitty isn’t going anywhere.  I have to take so many precautions before he comes over- vacuum and dust in advance, spray anti-allergen spray, wipe down my cat with anti-allergen wash, keep her out of the bedroom, have air purifier running in bedroom.  And he stocks up on Zyrtec, Allegra, Benedryl.  Luckily we are long distance so I have enough time to prepare for his visits.  I love cats and can’t imagine not having cats in the future, so this is something I’ve looked into before!

@mab3015:  Yes, they are Siberians!  I had the occasional mild reaction — maybe once per week — when we brought the first one home, but I was interacting with him constantly and he would sleep next to my pillow.  And it was milder than my usual reaction to other cats, and easily cured by a quick shower.  Normally when I visit a house with a cat, I have a reaction just from sitting on the furniture without even touching the cat.  I haven’t had a reaction in at least a month now, and we have had two of them for a little over 2 months.  The older one doesn’t shed at all, and the other one sheds a bit but not too badly.  And I am CONSTANTLY picking them up and petting them.  I am currently 6 days overdue with a (human) baby, so I have been spending a LOT of time at home with the kitties.  My husband is thrilled because he married me thinking he would never be able to have a cat!  I didn’t expect to get so attached to them but they are just so adorable, and they follow me around the apartment like little puppies.
