I'm sorry Lobstergirl that sucks - if you are looking for a photog in San Diego I have a few excellent recommendations now that I'm almost done with my search.... email me.
Funny you should post this, my fiance and I were kinda stood up by Garrett as well! We had emailed back and forth for about 2 weeks. I was trying to get an appointment the same day as another photographer in his area, so I could make one less trip. He emailed me 3 dates he was open, I emailed back the date and time I would like to meet, received no reply email. Then I called to confirm 2 days before.... heard nothing. Went to meet the other photographer. And I finally received a call back from Garrett 3 days after we were supposed to meet.... my fiance had my phone so Garrett said he'd call back in 10, but guess what? He never did. Better off this way! Imagine trying to track him down if you booked him!
Wow! That is horrible! I'm so sorry that you both (lobstergirl and CinSD) went through that very unprofessional experience! It's amazing how inconsiderate people can be! I hope you both are able to find reliable, and much better, photogs for your weddings. Good luck!
Sorry you had to go trhough that CinSD, but you are right that we are better off. Also, glad that we can tell other people, so they won't have to. Did you find a photog?
Yeah we went with A Beautiful Moment Photography. We also met with Tamarack Studios, that guy was awesome, he felt like a good friend straight away, but for what we wanted his prices were a little too much. I still feel sad about not booking him :(

To all of you brides looking for a photographer, I have a public service announcement. I was just in San Diego to meet with photographers. I had meetings from 7am-7pm after a long day in LA. So you can imagine how irked I was when my first appointment of the day stood me up. The photography stuio was Garrett photography.
This is not meant to be a personal attack, I was interviewing him because I thought he seemed very nice and talented. This really is a caution to those of your looking for photographers, as I am sure, like me you want to make sure that your vendors are reliable.
I had made an appointment with him a month before, in which we had confirmed date and time. The day before, he called and e-mailed to confirm, and while I did not receive the e-mail (I did not have internet access), I did call him back at 4PM (well within business hours). Still when I showed up at 7:00 and waited until 7:20, he was not there. I called to let him know we were leaving at 7:25. He returned that call later in the day, and claimed that we had never confirmed. Standing me up is one thing, but then not owning up to your mistake, is another. I wrote him an e-mail expressing my dissapointment and have not heard back from him.
This may be a one time occurence, and I may have just been unlucky, but I thought I would share, because it is very disheartneing to be stood up by a photographer.
