I only cruised into St. Lucia for a day but it was the most amazingly beautiful place I've ever seen! We even named our cat Lucia after it, haha! If you do go to St. Lucia you MUST do an all day tour with COSOL. http://www.cosol-tours.com/
He was hilarious and the tour was great value and included an authentic caribbean lunch!
Thanks so much for the tour recommendation, SweetheartDealer! Which cruise line were you on? We're also looking at cruises (we're so indecisive).
I'm leaving the caymans today :( I LOVE IT! It's just so quiet. After a nice dinner, my husband and I decided to take a walk on the beach. We were literally all alone on seven mile beach. It was wonderful and romantic. When we come back, we will stay at the Marriott or the Hyatt. The marriott has a fun pirates buffet on friday nights and they will serve you drinks and food while you are on the beach. We thought about sneaking over to see if we could fit in but we were too scared..lol. Personally, I love cayman!
Barrettsgirl, where were you staying this time around? Did you like it? The Marriott and the Hyatt are a bit out of our budget (OK, the Hyatt is waaaaaay out of our budget!
).
In Grand Cayman, there is the Sunshine Suites. It's very affordable, and right across the street from the beach. It's pretty nice, too.
Mouse, thank you so much! I just looked up their website, and it looks great -- I love that they have a kitchen so you don't have to eat all of your meals out.
We were on the carnival destiny -a different island every day! it was so awesome waking up to a new tropical paradise every morning :)
We went on a cruise to Grand Cayman in June. I do not have recommendations for where to stay, but make sure you go to Stingray City!
I second the Stingray city thing. Grand Cayman was my favorite place on our cruise and stingray city was by far my most favorite excursion!

Hello Hive! My husband and I are planning a belated honeymoon, and we're looking at going someplace in the Caribbean. I think we've narrowed it down to the Cayman Islands and St. Lucia, and I would love to get some recommendations for places to stay. I should add that we're not all that interested in the Sandals resorts on St. Lucia, they're pretty far outside our price range.
We're trying to keep it around $200 a night, although I may be able to talk my sweetie into going a bit higher :-) Any suggestions?
