We’ve got all Kwaiis.  They were waaaaay to big at first – he was 6lbs at birth. We started using them when he was around 8lbs even though they looked a bit ridiculous. But we’ve been using them no problem and now he is around 12lbs and doing fine.  They don’t leak and he doesn’t seem bothered by them. It does make some clothes not fit well but that may be true for any cloth diapers, not sure, this is my first time 🙂

I have both Kawaii and Alva, as well as two different typs of AIOs (I haven’t noticed the Kawaii or Alvas fitting any differently or bulkier than the AIOs, but she did wear only the AIOs for awhile). DD has been in cloth full time since around the middle of January, by which point she was 3.5 months old — when we finally ran out of size 1 disposable diapers. Of course I can’t remember how much she weighed at that point …

By the time she started in the Alva and Kawaii (which was right after my ill-fated diapers at daycare thread, whenever that was lol), she was big enough for them to be snapped to the middle length. Now she wears them all the way unsnapped to the longest setting, because I was getting mad about how annoying it was to stuff the pockets when they were snapped down so I decided to give it a try unsapped. Lo and behold, they fit fine. Maybe try snapping yours out from the smallest size and see if that helps them to fit better?

Does your daughter seem uncomfortable with the bulky bottom? I never even noticed if DD’s legs were raised off the floor by the dipes or not … haha maybe they were but it never bothered her! Anyway I’m sure this is all perfectly useless but there it is.
