My droid 2 is refurbished, too. I bought one and then it went kaput so Verizon replaced it with my current one. It’s been great, and (knock on wood) I haven’t had any problems with it.

I have an Iphone 3GS and I’ve had it for over a year with no problems! I used to work for AT&T and the refurbs are just phones that people have returned due to contract issues within the first 30 days, they can’t resell phones that people have returned due to defects. I’m planning on upgrading to an Iphone 4 this weekend and if the refurb option is available I’m going for it!

@soon2bS:You’re welcome!! I always recommend refurbs because to me it’s the exact same thing as a new phone.

Also, make sure that the salesperson isn’t adding things that you didn’t request to your order. I know it seems like common sense but FI and I actually went to Best Buy last night to upgrade my phone and the salesman was telling us about the protection plan and we declined. Then he told us about a bundle that included a charger, case and something else and we declined. Fortunately when he went to get the actual phone he was out so we have to wait for a new shipment because he gave us the paperwork so we wouldn’t have to fill it out again when we go back. The order form had both the protection plan and the bundle included. Yikes! There are a lot of honest salespeople but it’s definitely worth watching. 🙂
