TheLadyA :  I never really had an issue with it until I turned 27, and then all of a sudden I was acutely aware of some of the little lumps under my butt/top of my thighs. I have been doing squats, lunges and hamstring exercises pretty regularly and it seems to have toned/dimished some of what I was seeing. Granted, I’m nearing 30 every second so I probably should just accept the fact that I can’t/won’t be cellulite free forever, but specifically the squats seemed to have helped stave spome of that off!

Ugh, I have always hated my cellulite but never so much as I have now that I am 9 months pregnant! I have cellulite on my CALVES! WTF? I never had it there before!

🙁 I hope it goes away!

No idea what helps…. but if someone has some good tips  Iwould try them!

TheLadyA :  Ugh, isn’t it the worst how a poorly timed innocent little comment can have such a big impact on us! We can be such delicate little creatures.

Unfortunately I think it’s one of those things that there isn’t an awful lot you can do about (even exercise and diet only seem to have modest effects), but I have noticed a little bit of fake tan definitely helps minimise the visibility of it on my upper legs. I know that’s not exactly a solution, but I’ll take whatever help I can get when it’s bothering me!

The other thing I’ve heard is to stay really well hydrated. Apparently cellulite is caused by dehydrated fat cells (so that they sort of pucker) and even just keeping your fluids up can minimise the bumps.

One last thing I will say is that I hardly ever notice cellulite on other women. I’m sure it’s there but unless someone is wearing super super short shorts and wiggling their ass directly in front of me, I’m oblivious. On the rare occasion I do notice anything, I certainly don’t think poorly of it. We are so our own worst critics.

Miss_Mae:  Yes! In addition to the regular diet/exercsie stuff, I agree a fake tan does wonders…

TheLadyA :  Honestly, I used to hate mine, but FI tells me over and over again that he loves my thighs. So I have stopped caring. Also as PP said, I don’t think I’ve ever noticed cellulite on women either!!!

I’ve had cellulite since I hit puberty.  I’ve basically made my peace with it, but of courseI wish I didn’t have it.  Unfortunately, it’s genetic and just how your body stores fat.  Being in good shape means you have less fat, which means less cellulite.  I got a free sample of this cellulite reducing cream from Clarins (I think it was this) and it did help, but there’s no way I can afford it on a regular basis.

Second the fake tan!

TheLadyA :  It didn’t necessarily get rid of the cellulite, but it made my legs and butt look more firm overall.  It reduced the appearance of the cellulite by making everything look tighter, if that makes sense.  I used it about every other night after I showered until my free sample ran out – so probably about 2 weeks.  If you have some extra money, it’s worth it!

MrsTeasandkeys:  I’m just throwing this out there, but what is on your calves is probably due to fluid retention and not actual cellulite.

TheLadyA :  The older I get, the more I have accepted my lumps and bumps. I am getting too old for daisy dukes and mini skirts. they make adorable swim shorts and beach sarongs now. I find that the older I get, the more free I feel from beauty standards.

Mrs_Amanda:  26-27 was when mine started as well! My mom has been overweight her entire adult life and no cellutlie, the women on my father’s side… very ltitle and not until their 40s… so what gives??

I’ve noticed that getting more toned has helped but it’s really about diet and stress… I have no will power and am fairly laid back so I’m just sucking it up!
