I really want to get married in the chapel where SO’s parents got married at Wesleyan University. My heart has been set on it for a long time. SO and I were going to check out the place and I saw online that there is no center aisle! I would have to walk down one of the two side aisles.
I suppose I can ask his parents what they did, but I thought maybe you guys can let me know if you experienced this? Is it a deal breaker? Did anyone else here walk down a side aisle? How did it look?
I believe I am going there on Thursday to check it out so I will see what the coordinator says but I would love to hear about your experiences.

Side aisles are no big deal, lots of churches have them. You walk down the bride’s side (left side) and out on the groom’s side (right).

Thanks for the tips! I am checking it out tomorrow. I guess I was wondering if it would be awkward but I will see!

I’ve never seen this, but I don’t think it would be a deal breaker. Especially since the church has so much meaning to you. I like the idea of walking down one aisle and leaving down the other.

I decided against a church because of this. Plus the side aisle was so small, my dad wouldn’t be able to walk with me and who knows how FI and I would get outta there!

I’m a wedding planner and what they’re telling you is correct. Walk down the bride’s aisle and out on the grooms side. Make sure everyone walks down your side though. I know it’s been popular to send people down different aisles but technically whichever aisle the bride is going to walk down is the one everyone should walk down. 🙂 Good luck!
