So I FINALLY got my centerpieces together!!!!!! I have to admit I was very nervous about this one because I had NO idea where to start or what to do. I also didn’t want anything that would end up in the garbage or trying to sell online eventually. I couldn’t wait to run it by here among you bees, so here goes, Please tell me if this is tacky or not. I seriously cant tell!!
The bottom plate is actually a rectangle dinner plate so when the wedding is over I have 12 new dinner-plates 🙂 🙂 Same with the glass, its actually one of those wine glasses without the stem. The candles actually smell lightly of chocolate vanilla ice cream and what girl doesn’t like sniffy candles.. The rocks I can reuse in the garden of our new home. and the only thing I don’t know what to do with is the flowers or grass(fake). So there you have it, I can reuse almost everything!!
I have yet to decide which way to set it up yet.. please forgive the cruddy cell phone pics.. also if you have suggestions – I’m all ears!! Thx bees!! <3

Looks good! The only suggestion I have is to really try to find an unscented candle – having a room filled with those plus food isn’t a great combination.
Check with your venue, too just to make sure you don’t need to surround any open flames with glass.

Simple and cute all i have to say is make sure no one trys to take them home (the cup and plate) I went to one where the bride and groom rented all the vaces and everything then the guests took them home WITHOUT ASKING… But i like them just not sure what to do with the left over flowers….

@thewheelsonthebus: OMG I hadnt thought of that hahahaha!! I just imagined roast beef with the scent of chocolate vanilla… ugh. THANK YOU!
@MsPanda: Thanks for the heads up, thats AWFUL!! I’m going to buy a glue gun now, and glue it all to the tables!

Beautiful! I also had never thought about the scented candles!

They look good, but I was going to say the same thing about the scented candles… could be a little over powering X12

@cyrgycyrg: 🙂 You’re welcome! I’ve hada couple of brides in past years use scented candles because they just love them… then they walk into their reception and realize how bad it can get with so many plus so many people and food!

I think they are pretty- My venue requires that our flames are surrounded by glass too so I second asking! Good job!

Very well done. Simple and elegant.

I like it. I agree about the scented candles. Not the best mix with food.

But a question – when the candles are burning, where will the wax go? It looks like it’ll just melt right into the rocks and make a big waxy mess. (That sounded harsher than I meant it too)

@Gingersnap: Good point. I would suggest doing a smaller candle or a larger glass and putting the candle in the glass and then the flowers around the glass maybe. m

Holy crap I didnt think of ANY of that *le sigh* You bees are quite right about the smell and the melty wax (Thank you many times over for that @Gingersnap: I’m going to have to reconsider this somehow)
@jeffloveschrissy:I like your suggestion!! I’m at work now but when I get home Im going to give your idea a whirl. Thanks for that!!
Thanks again for the input! I dont know what I would do without the bees here!! <3

I love the look of it!
Take everyone’s suggestions into consideration.
And somehow make sure ppl know not to take these home! Because if I knew they weren’t rented I’d want to take one! lol.
