It’s your ring.  Get the one you love.  If that’s the 2ct, go for the 2ct.

Are you getting a RB or an OEC?  An OEC would look pretty awesome in that setting.

@aliciapdx:  If I told you you had to choose the 1.5ct would you feel disappointed at all?  If so, the 2ct is probably your answer.  This is one of those situations where you need to try to make a gut decision without overthinking it.  What you feel more drawn to is more important that what a bunch of strangers think.

I didn’t vote, I like the Blue Nile ring better.

I voted for the 1.5 carat. I think it looks like the perfect size on your finger. Its big and beautiful and very classy! I actually love the Blue Nile setting as well, just gorgeous!

@aliciapdx:  I feel like I’ve seen that Blue Nile setting on MoissaniteCo…are you sure they don’t have it? Might be worth emailing customer service that photo to see if they can get the same setting.

@Jabberwocky:  agreed on the OEC thing. I think an OEC stone would be FABULOUS in this setting!

@aliciapdx:  I tried to buy a bluenile setting without a stone and they wouldn’t sell JUST the settings. I’d be interested to know if you are able to buy just the setting. I have a size 5 finger and have 2 e-rings. One 1.5 carat and one 2.0 carat. The size isn’t hugely noticeable I think, so I say go for the 2 carat! 🙂 Especially if you don’t see yourself upgrading ever.

@aliciapdx:  awesome! thanks for letting me know 🙂

One more thing to be wary of – sometimes they will sell just the setting but not the head/prong part for the setting, then you will have to get a jeweller to get the right size head for your stone and set it. Often the heads are the pricy part, especiailly for a large (2 carat) stone.

I just went though this all myself and have found out tons of info on getting stones, set, etc.
