It's soooo beautiful with the flowers around the base. I'm not a fan of the rose petals + tea lights look.
Count me as #2 not in favor of rose petals.
You could use baby's breath at the base, or branches sprayed white,a feather wreath,or an ice crystal one
these are the kind of things you can pick up on craigslist at a reasonable price.
I definitely think you need something there. I like @julies1949's suggestion for baby's breath rather than a full floral thing with roses or something - I think it's a really elegant look.
I like the rose petals but it doesn't need the tea lights
what are your thoughts on feathers? I am kind of going with a vintage victorian theme....

I agree, perhaps use some foliage instead like baby breath or ivy, simple but sophisticated
I still prefer the flowers for the victorian theme. Flowers are more victorian to me.
If you are going to have chargers & napkins on the table too - I think that will add just enough without looking too busy. So, I say keep it simple & elegant.
The first pic has no flowers/feathers/candles at its base. And then the second has flowers. I prefer the one w/o :)

It looks a little too plain on your diagram, but there is always so much stuff crowded onto the tables that I really don't think you need any exrta decor besides the candelabras.

I have been making fabric flowers for my bouquets, maybe if i am ambitious i can do them for the centerpeices too... what do you guys think of these?
I think the candle stands are enough on their own but I like simple centerpieces. We use a contrasting color 12 x12 ceramic tile as a base for our centerpieces
I think the fabric flowers would be great but I also think the candelabra on its' own will be fine.
As others have said once you add everything else to the table there isn't a lot of blank space.
Flowers or a mix of flowers and feathers would be nice. Rose petals are pretty but not quite right for your candelabra.

Hello Bees,
I have purchased these candelabras as my main centerpeice for the reception. Do you think they would look ok as a stand alone or should i do something around them. I will be having gold chivari chairs and champagne table cloths.
I was thinking of either doing preserved rose petals (most economical) and some tea lights
Of do you think that having a floral arrangement is nessessar... do you think it would be tacky to use silks?
