Gerbers are expensive. That does sound about right to me. Does it also include the vase on a square mirrored tile with three votive candles around it and set up and delivery? If it does, that is a really good price.
You could probably do this yourself, but it might end up being around the same price if you buy the vases and stuff
The only thing with DIY, is you might be able to recover some of the cost by selling the vases after your wedding
That seems insane to me. I did Gerbera centerpieces for my friend's shower and ended up getting 40 gerbera's in various colors from a floral wholesaler for $65, which is about 1.65 per stem. You can also order them from costco's bulk flowers for about $1.12 per stem for 80 stems.
Granted, those are DIY options, but what you are doing seems pretty simple, so $15 per centerpiece seems unreasonably high if the florist is not also providing the containers, mirrors and votives.
@noritake22: No, it doesn't include anything but the flowers. I think she said she would set them up in the vases for me, doing the wiring etc to make sure they don't droop, but I'm not positive on that.
@HoneyBear: I already bought the vases several weeks ago and got them for only $1.25 per vase, which I thought was awesome! I haven't yet ordered the mirrored tiles yet but having priced things out, I think I can get them all, along with the votives, for about $60.
Hmmm... any ideas on other flowers that will look bright and happy?

this place sells votive candles for super cheap, if you still need to buy them
I really think if you have your heart set on those daisys you could find them for cheap a lot of places.
Sams club sells 80 stems for $65 and you can get them delivered
@HoneyBear: Thanks so much! I am definitely going to look into Sams Club as that price is awesome! I'd heard of fiftyflowers but wasn't that impressed with their prices, Sams Club is much more along the lines of what I was looking at spending. Thanks! :-)
If you are just putting three daisys in a vase then do it yourself. Remember a florist is also charging for the labor.

Hi Bees,
For my centerpieces, I'm planning on having three gerbera daisies in a vase on a square mirrored tile with three votive candles around it. When I mentioned this to my florist, she quoted me $15 per centerpiece....which works out to $5 per daisy! This sounds outlandishly high to me as I did not think daisies were an expensive flower. Does this sound right to you?? If so, any idea on where I can get daisies for a lot cheaper?
I'm attaching a picture of what I envision for the flowers (mirrored tile and votives not yet included)
