I think these are a lot of fun. I was originally planning on doing something like this for one of my tables but ended up changing my mind.
Are you familiar with Ben Franklin Craft stores? I think they used to have those glasses super cheap. I'll try to find a link. Also, I've seen a few of these at thrift stores. Also, ebay has a few for $15 right now...good luck!
Maisymay- No I'm not familiar, I will google them though thanks. :)
Had my appt with the florist today, ugh was stressful and made me realize I am really not sure of what I want for centerpieces! Lol. I showed her this picture, and she does not have anything like these glasses so I would have to provide them- which is fine, but then she brought up the amount of flowers that would be required to make this a large, full arrangement- it's probably going to wind up being $80 floral/$20 for the glass...so $100 per centerpiece...that's just so much to swallow! Haha.
Trying now to find other pretty, "fun" centerpieces to compare to to make sure this is really what I want to do. Any other ideas bees? :)
I like it a lot! Could you mix it up and do some with tangerines and some with a different fruit? Grapefruit would be a nice color, but maybe too big? Lemons and limes aren't the pink or orange, but could be a nice compliment. I'm a big fan of multiple styles of centerpieces ;)
Greenleaf- that's a good idea! :) I'll have to look at trying that out if I decide to go with this centerpiece. Thanks :)
I am looking for 25 Martini Glasses, without paying alot of money.
oh my goodness that looks SOOOO gorgeous!!!! =) I say go for it!! I'm afraid I don't have any actual advice, apart from the fact that I'm sure it'll turn out really beautiful. Keep us posted with what you end up doing, and how!
I scored a set of crystal martini glasses with palm trees etched in--they are gorgeous! I got them at either ebay or amazon, can't remember. We're puttning glass beads in them & floating one white orchid in each. It's really perfect for our venue in Palm Springs. I'll have to get a pic of a mock up.

It really is funny how quickly things change in your wedding plans...the past few days I have really been stressing about my initial idea to do some sort of DIY manzanita centerpiece...worrying about making them, worrying about the cost being much more than I initially planned, worrying about them looking like crap (ha), worrying about transporting them to the reception site, etc.
So I started looking for other ideas that will possibly minimize my anxiety levels....and found this! I love this look! My colors are hot pink & orange- so I'm thinking tangerines for the fruit in the glass, and then a mixture of hot pink/orange flowers on top. What do you think?? Any suggestions? Has anyone done this before?
I'm looking at www.save-on-crafts.com and found some 18" martini glasses that look like the same one in this picture for $21.00 each- but I'm going to check with my florist tomorrow at our appt. and see if she can rent me something similar for less.
