I think that's a lovely idea. You could fill the teapot with the whole rose buds and leave out the water for something a little different.

I think glass teapots can be quite pricey, let me know if you find some good value ones!
Good luck.
Do you have any family members that have teapots and you could use regular ones as centerpieces? I collect vntage ones and was thinking about using them for centerpieces, but never did and went a different route. You could probably buy some pretty easily from flea markets/antique shops. I can picture teapots used as a vase maybe on a wood slice with moss around it for that outdoor teaparty look.
Also, not center piece related, but if you haven't check out Etsy you totally should as far as just Alice decor in general. Even if just to get ideas for DIY stuff. I've seen really cool table numbers, escort cards, invites, favor boxes/bags with a alice/mad hatter theme. I even saw some wonderland playing card table numbers. Cute!
Back when I was actually blogging, I made an inspiration board with an Alice in Wonderland theme: http://swashbuckletheaisle.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html. Below there are some links to where I found those pictures so hopefully you can grab some ideas from there.
I think flowers in teacups/teapots are a great idea. I loved the way the vintage books and pocketwatches looked, but I'm sure vintage pocketwatches could get expensive. There is an etsy seller who makes beautiful Alice in Wonderland themed table numbers and escort cards.
I love your idea, btw! Would love to see what you decide on.
I love the idea to use teapots.
You could do 3 or 4 sided photo frame centerpieces using playing cards instead of photos. You can actually do them without frames or with those clear plastic frames.
You can place flowers in them or use a votive candle. The votive candle would look great if you enlarged a playing card then printed it on transparent or frosted printing medium.

you can get extra large playing cards here

OOhh Thanks for the great ideas! Our venue is a red, white, black and gold art deco venue with a panoramic view so something about it made me think of the whimsical notion of an adult Wonderland!
I love those jumbo playing cards!

@BettyKnocker: I just had to say I LOVE the inspiration board. So dreamy :)
Are you still creating inspiration boards? You have a knack my dear. Would love one if you are.
I'm actually trying to do a Mad tea party theme but recently dropped the teacups and teapots idea due to the lack of finds in my area. I found some awesome colorful glass bottles in different shaped.
Anyways, this is my pinterest for any ideas

Does anyone have any creative ideas?
I am thinking of trying to find clear teapots to fill with rosepetals and a floating candle and then placing that on a mirror with more candles...
