What about using milk glass like Miss Pretzel is? I think those old vases are pretty country without being really rustic.
This is a rought idea of what we are thinking. It had plenty of time to change, though! We are thinking of the pumpkins instead of the candles...with fabric flowers instead of lights.
We're doing mason jars! Here are a few pics! I have a ton more if you're interested.
You could search places like goodwill for old cake plates that are formal, crystal or white, and add flowers on top in a wreath with a candle in the middle. If you wanted you could add votives around it.

I found this, and I thought it was a very cute centerpiece. http://www.bhg.com/crafts/weddings/reception/beautiful-wedding-centerpiece-ideas/?page=7 What do you think?

We are having a hard time deciding on centerpieces! Can I see yours or your inspiration for some ideas? We are going with a "formal" country-ish wedding! haha!!!
