I am having the hardest time deciding on centerpieces. I am trying to be DIY, but frankly I think I have great ideas but then I make up a “mock” and I think it’s dumb.. Sooo I was wondering if anyone out there had good photos of things they have done. I want more than just the simple flowers in a vase. Some ideas that I have really liked are the eiffel tower vase with the feathers on top (I’m thinking probably too expensive for centerpieces). My idea is, I want big and elegant but cheap, (no, i’m not impossible at all!) The rest of my “reception” decorating ideas are…
Our colors are Lapis purple (a really rich plum purple) Champagne, and a hint of sage just for a little hint of color so it’s not too rich. and Black of course.
Black linen tablecloths (I do want a centerpiece with the submergible lights and the water holding beads)
I have bistro lights to hang over the dance floor and some paper lanterns which we are lighting up.
Sorry for all the rambling.. I just need some creative Bee minds to help me out here…

I’m not sure if this will help at all, but I DIY’d these, and I thought they came out pretty good!
*vases are from Christmas Tree Shops, 4.99 each
*each hydrangea is from Jo-Ann’s Fabrics, I have been buying one at a time w/coupons! 5.99 –> 50% off coupon –> $3 per flower
*I am now using white seaglass instead of river pebbles. At Michael’s, they are 2.49 a bag..with coupon, I am getting them for $1.49
*Floating candles courtesy of my best friend/MOH! she was able to get them for me through her company.
I am SUPER cheap and I finally decided on these. For each table, I’ll be spending less than $10. I have 16 tables, but budgeted for 20, as we weren’t sure of the guest list. I’ll be using the extra four on the bar, guest book table, etc. Hope that helps some!!

As you are having a September wedding, hydrangeas should be readily available. Because of their size, I think you could make an impressive centerpiece for a reasonable cost.
Something like this only in your vase with and LED and leave off the bow.
Again, purple hydrangeas but the vase is lined with greeery
This one is on a pedestal vase
