I am doing three hurricane vases (three diff heights) with pillar candles as my center piece.
My hurricanes are 3″ wide. Has any done a slightly thinner pillar before? Im looking at doing a 2.25″ versus the usual 3″. The cost difference is noticable, and i am ordering online.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I’m doing hurricanes with 3″ round flameless candles. I haven’t tried a thinner pillar candle before, but I think it would still look ok. If you think the candles look too small for the hurricanes, you could try adding some decorative glass or stones around the candle in the base of the hurricane.

@Nikkimcq: For a 3″ diameter cylinder vase, I would definitely use a narrower candle, otherwise you lose the look of the vase holding the candle.
It would just look like a pillar candle with glass sides if you stuffed a 3″ candle into a 3″ vase. You might have troubles with fit, or the candle leaving wax streaks down the side of the vase after you shove it in.
