You could easily replace the wine glasses with martini glasses:

Thanks, lily. There was really no preference with glass types...I like these too. Any more?

I've had that photo saved forever! I don't know how you'd keep the flowers fresh under there, but they are so cool and different!

Otherwise, there are a few online tutorials for using wine glasses as tea light lamps like so:

Oh I love the lampshade idea! I have seen the actual glass ones but didn't know you could do them with velum. Is there any sort of fire hazard with velum? Do you think they are formal enough for an evening wedding in January? I'm realizing how expensive the candle holders I wanted are (whole other story on my budget freak-out this week) and am looking for alternatives. This was what I was originally thinking of:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/WEDDINGS-VINTAGE-CRYSTAL-DROP-Candle-Holder-SET-6_W0QQitemZ400096173788QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5d27971edc

They're beautiful, but for 25 tables I can't justify the cost...although I might just bite the bullett and hope I can re-sell them after the wedding...

@ lillyfaith-love the first picture-- but we are doing a destination wedding-- was thinking of putting seashells under the glass and then aqua candles on the top-- do you think that would still look ok??
