This may sound dumb but I’m trying to get inspiration for table decorations for the reception, centerpieces etc and so far all I can find are pictures of tables with plates and glasses & stuff on it (like the picture below) We’re having a buffet style reception so therefore, we won’t need the place settings. Don’t get me wrong, something like the picture I posted is gorgeous, but we just would rather have the buffet style.
So, my question is how can I decorate the table and make it look nice without the plates? I just feel like it looks kind of empty without them. Anyone have any pictures from their wedding or ideas they’d be willing to share?

We served buffet style and although we didn’t have the plates on the tables, I had a really simple napkin fold (personally just am not a fan of the napkin in the glass look or weird folds, just like something clean & modern.) And then had the glasses and silverware on the tables already. Here is my inspiration pic of the napkins (the close up one) and the second is from my wedding (excuse some of the napkins being blown over, it was a little windy 🙂

That’s beautiful! I love all the white, it’s so elegant. I think I’ll do something like that and just already have the silverware and everything ready on the table. Thanks so much for sharing!

I agree, I like the napkins and silverware or a napkin with a flower or placeholder on it. We had a buffet, and just had our centerpieces and table numbers on the tables.

Sidenote: My centerpeices were more square & narrow, so another way for your tables not to look bald would be to have a wider & fuller centerpeice. Also the way you arrange you candles & table numbers will help to make it appear fuller as well.
