Hi! I'm getting married in October 2009 as well at Casa Feliz in Winter Park.
So far our vendors are:
Catering - Arthur's. This isn't really our choice because they come with Casa Feliz, but their food is amazing! We had a tasting with them in January and they have great table setups as well.
Florist - Dazigns by David. He's a friend of the family and did my FSIL's wedding a couple of years ago. He's great to work with and he can suit anyone's taste.
Officiant - Rev. Kevin Knox. At least I think he's our officiant. He cashed our check to be our officiant. But I haven't been able to get ahold of him in ages and today I just got an email from him saying "I met you at an open house and haven't heard back. I was wondering if you found an officiant yet." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You cashed my check LAST JULY. Of course, I've left another message today and heard NOTHING.
Venue - Casa Feliz. For us it was between Casa Feliz and the History Center. We choose Casa Feliz because we love outdoor weddings and the house is very "us" where the History Center was very "me".
DJ - Joe Magic. My FI and FIL's were sold on him from the moment we met with him and I just went with the flow. He has another wedding before ours on the East Coast and I'm a little worried about that.
Photographers - Root Photography. My FI knows Nathan from when they both worked on the UCF Future. I didn't have a choice on this one, but they've been really really great to work with so far. I love their pictures.
I'll add more reviews as I go along!
Hi fellow Orlando Bride!!
We are using Arthurs for catering as well-- there food is fantastic!!
That is really low about the officiant-- its even worse becuase it the OFFICIANT! I'm from MD originally-- and we are really pumped because the pastor that i grew up with is going to come down to marry us (his wife is from Winter Park so it was an easy sell).
You look like you are on a roll! I am a bit of a procrastinator and taking my time deciding on flowers and other details! Thanks for sharing your vendors-- i am going to look up the florist =)
Have you ordered your dress?
Hey there - I've been reading this blog for a long time and think it's great to get in touch with other Orlando brides. I'm not from Orlando, but having a destination wedding 9/6/2009. Our vendors thus far are:
Venue & Catering: Rosen Shingle Creek (for ceremony and reception) - got awesome room rates for our guests
Florist: Greenery Productions - will work with your budget
Officiant: Rev. McKinney - great personality, great price
Photographer: Domenico Castald, total photo journalistic style.
Videographer: Rhodes Studio
DJ:Effects Light and Sounds (not from Orlando, but we know them from West Palm Beach).
I think that's it...I still need make up and hair, tux place for the dudes, no transportation needed because we're doing it all in one place. I am doing all the invites and programs myself
Update on my officiant situation. I left a message saying that if I haven't heard from them by March 6th that I would be canceling and finding another officiant. Lo and behold 2 minutes later the phone rang! They pretended to have no idea what I was talking about and confirmed that we are down for October 3rd. Sheesh!
@Hirsche that is awesome that your pastor is coming down. The last wedding that I went to the bride's pastor came down from MA. He had married her parents! It was very personal and touching. If it hadn't have lasted 90 minutes (full Mass) then I would've said it was the best ceremony ever.
I have ordered my dress it's sitting in my closet. David's Bridal had informed me it could take 4 months to come in and I think it came in 2 weeks!
We are meeting with our photographer's in 2 weeks to do an engagement shoot, it was part of our package otherwise I don't know if I would've done one. I'm really nervous for a couple of reasons.
1. I tend to pose a lot. Like, if you watch America's Next Top Model and they talk about the girl who goes crazy with 80's poses? That's me.
2. And I don't smile very naturally.
3. And everyone there will be a photograper but me. I'm sure there will be lots of camera talk that I will unnaturally smile through.
But I am glad that it's kind of like a rehearsal. Hopefully this will mean that on our wedding day I'll be really comfortable in front of the camera!
@brena80: How did the engagement shoot go??
I've hit a bit of a snag... the fantastic photographer friend that was going to do out photography had to back out-- which throws quite a little bend in our budget (she was pretty much gifting us the photography).
I am SOO glad the officiant worked out!
Well....I'm a Mrs. now, but I've been a member since August and it really seems like there are very few FL Brides in general on this board. Hopefully more will show up while you're planning...there were only 2 or 3 while I was. I used Mike Buoy Photography in Orlando and the Carribean Crew as my band (they are a steel drum band), and they are also out of Orlando. All of my other vendors were from Ocala (where I live).
Mike Buoy does an amazing job and REALLY goes above and beyond with his clients. I can't say enough about him. Amazing, really.
The Carribean Crew was also amazing and incredibly professional if you are looking for a steel drum band.
That's it for suggestions in the Orlando area.
yay CFL brides...we're planning a very low key event, our venue will be the village center @ villagewalk in lake nona. we're trying to figure out what we want as far as catering, which we probably be the biggest expense...we're thinking early afternoon so maybe more tea-ish than dinner foods...
Need help with my 2010 Daytona Beach wedding. vendors, venues, photographer etc
I'm getting Married in daytona Beach spring 2010! Can't pick which month exactly....march, April, or May...any suggestions?

Hi girls!
I recently found this board. I'm from NY but am having a destination wedding in Orlando Jan 2010!
Hey!!! I'm getting married January 3, 2010 in Lake Mary, FL. (20 minutes north of Orlando for you destination-ers :) )
Here are my venors and i LOVE every single one of them - i feel like they are all my friends who i know who just happen to be doing the various parts of my wedding!!
Caterer - John Michael Events
Florist - Lee Forrest
Venue - Lake Mary Events Center (ceremony and reception)
DJ - DJ Rage (messina productions) - he does video dj-ing which is going to be awesome because our venue has 3 screens!!!!
Officient - My pastor from Sarasota will be coming up, Joe Davis
Hope this helps :)
Just getting started in all my wedding planning. We set our wedding date for March 12, 2011 in Orlando.
I did go to a wedding show today and it was really helpful in giving me ideas on where to start!
We are getting married on April 10, 2010 in Mount Dora (30 mins NW of Orlando). We are having our ceremony at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the reception will be held at Lake Receptions. We've booked all of our vendors and I was finally able to pick up my dress last weekend.
Less than 6 months to go ... I'm sooo excited!
I'm getting married at Paradise Cove as well. Its such a beautiful venue and I'm so excited! Hirsche, maybe you could post some pictures from your wedding. Congratulations by the way!
Count me in! I'm located in Palm Bay and am venue-hunting anywhere from Vero Beach to Orlando. I'm so frustrated with Brevard County's venues in comparison to Orlando...we MIGHT just have an Orlando wedding, too!
We're planning for 2011.
Does anyone have any ideas for a venue that doesN't require a caterer? It's looking like we may have to rent a city-owned venue. Our family is just not into the catering thing...we're more of a BBQing, potlucking, DIY family. Oy!
I'm seeing some of you girls used Paradise Cove! That is on the top 3 of our reception venues. I haven't gotten a chance to go there, but did get some information and it looked amazing! Would love to see some pictures of it!
Paradise Cove was a GORGEOUS venue! I am going to resize some of my pictures and post them for you to see! =) I'll post them as Paradise Cove! Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help!
Hi Girls!
Another Orlando bride here. Trying to get all of the loose ends tied up from far away so this board is a welcome site. Nice to "meet" everyone!
Well, I'm not from Central Florida, but my photographer is...and I'm kind of biased, but he's really great if any of you ladies are searching for one!
Hello Bees!
I'm just now starting the planning process! I split my time between West Palm Beach, FL and Jacksonville, FL (currently in WPB for the next 5 months) but I'm having my wedding in Orlando!!
I'm looking for a Catholic church and hotel reception site. I'm doing most of the legwork as far as hiring vendors but I'm definitely hiring a Wedding Coordinator for the last couple months to the event. Any one have experience with a specific coordinator?
Good Luck everyone!

Hey Orlando area brides-- I have been diligently reading wedding bee for months! My FI and I are planning our October 2009 wedding at Paradise Cove in Orlando. I am looking to find out who else is planning, and what vendors you are using! I love options and I am wondering you have you some recommendations!
