Ok Bees, I need help!!
I’ve been trolling the hive for months now for ideas and have even found a few good ones, but still no venue for us in sight. We are looking for 130-150 people in June 2014 or even (I know I’m crazy) anything open for later on this fall Oct/Nov 2013. My original plan was along the lines of rustic outdoor ceremony with either tented outdoor reception (blank slate)or indoor reception that’s not your typical Jersey-style ballroom. Also, we are night people and don’t want our reception to have to end by 9pm and clean up by 10. We are looking to spend no more than $100-125 (ish) per person for a relaxed stations/cocktail style reception including alcohol and the rental fees for the venue/ tent/ tables/ chairs, ceremony chairs, bathrooms (you’d think they would be included, right?), etc. Also, we really don’t want to travel more than an hour but I’m willing to beg and plead and convince everyone within 2 hours away from central Jersey shore/ ocean county, as long as there are hotels nearby.
We have looked at the Morris Arboretum and Inn at Fernbrook Farms (my absolute fav but out of ur budget!) Also contacted the following, but most seem just a bit over budget or you have to rent everything that realllly adds up, or you have to end early: Ash Mill Farm, Prettybrook farm, Bayonet farm (the lady is retiring next month and keeps telling me to call back I guess bc she’s too lazy to help me) John J Audubon center, Stone Barn, Barn on Bridge, Branches/Laurita winery.

Lambertville Station – not sure of the prices but the location is pretty – on the Delaware River and the food is good!
Over budget, would be TPC Jasna Polana, in Princeton.
Sayen Gardens, Hamilton, NJ. Not sure of their capacity.
The Greenway Trust has a big barn style building, might work?
Or maybe this? Not sure of the prices… http://www.bonnetislandestate.com/

@savagepatch: Try the Cranbury Inn in Cranbury. It’s BEAUTIFUL! very rustic looking and well within your price range. We would have chosen it but it wasn’t large enough for our 200+ guests.
The owner is VERY nice and will give you a full tour if you stop by. He’ll also tell you the different price options so you can choose one that suits your budget. It’s a GORGEOUS space!

@Astra: I emailed Jasna Polana for shits and giggles and then almost died when I saw the $215/pp price LOL
I know this was from a month ago- Look at Chauncey Hotel and Conference Center on the ETS campus in Princeton. If you are doing a fall wedding, they have a really pretty tent BUT it’s not air conditioned which didnt work for our July wedding. They also have a cool house on site that you + bridal party could stay in AND you can also have an after party there (you provide everything). And it’s a hotel so guests can stay right on site.

@weatherbug: Not to mention that Jasna Polana has a 32,500 minimum for Saturday evening events. *gasp, faint* The Friday or Sunday brunches are reasonable, however.
