Help! We want to keep our ceremony short and sweet, so short that we aren’t even offering seating for the ceremony, It’s going to be outside on a patio overlooking a lake at sunset all our guests will have champange in hand…Are things like a unity candle, or the sand nessesary? Also looking for ways to incorperate our kids into it other than ring bearer and flower girl. Any ideas/advise on how to make this happen, we are both somewhat religious but it isn’t weighning heavy on things at all!!!

@Mcap: have you seen the unity cross? A unity anything isn’t necessary at al, but we thought it was a nice way to honor god AND involve the kids. His three kids are going to help us put the cross together (it goes together with 3 pegs) and I’m going to say some vows to them beforehand. You said you were somewhat religious, but didn’t specify what religion so obviously disregard this if you aren’t some form of Christianity! Haha
I think having a separate set of ‘vows’ spoken directly to the kids is a nice way to let thm know they are a part of the change that is happening. It can be scary for them even if you are both the biological parents.
