I am pulling my hair out trying to decide what musicians to book for my November 2014 wedding! Can you help me decide?
My heritage is mexican-american and my fiancee is caucasian. I was 100% sure I wanted a string quartet until I found two guitarist who I thought might add a bit more flair to the vineyard wedding. Now I can’t pick! And I can’t afford both unfortunately – haha.
Regardless of whatever one I pick the idea is to have them play classical wedding music during the ceremony then more upbeat music during cocktail hour.
Please listen to both and let me know you would pick! Thanks ladies!
Venue: Vineyard in Napa Valley
Date: November 2014
Colors: Almost 100% sure I’m going to go with white and gold with accents of coral/orange/red.
Option 1: String Quartet – https://winecountryentertainment.com/Wine_Country_Trio.html
Option 2: Guitarist – https://winecountryentertainment.com/Trio_Solea.html

I would do the string quartet for the ceremony and the guitarist for the cocktail hour.

I voted for guitarist because I think they are fun and upbeat, along with reflecting your heritage. But both groups are wonderful, I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either one!

I would go with the string quartet. You can have some very nice upbeat music with a string quartet. In my opinion, guitars just doesn’t have the same flair for ceremony music.

@Maple2012: I for one LOVE the guitarists for a vineyard wedding. I am a huge acoustic guitar fan though. I love the samples they have, both upbeat and classical. I think strings are traditional for the ceremony but once you get into cocktail hour the guitarists would be more appropriate and fun. But for me, I’d have the guitarists for both.
ETA: I love strings too, and I just listened to their samples and I like them a lot. However, I don’t know what it is, but I still see a vineyard wedding with those guitarists. I love them!!

I had my family listen to both and they all preferred the guitars. Ahhh! Decisions decisions! Unfortunately I can’t afford both…. maybe I’ll wait to see who is still available when I have the deposit saved up and let fate decide.
@jny1179 – I feel you with the vineyard and guitars… I just feel like they go so perfectly well together!

@Maple2012: I’m a big fan of guitar. I also think the string quartets are beautiful, but really typical. If you want something a little unique, go with the guitar!

@Maple2012: I think either option will be a good choice. We hired a cellist and guitarist duo for our wedding ceremony
