Hello! I am looking for some non-expensive decor advice. So, basically not natural flowers and mostly DIY hehe. Here is my ceremony and reception venue: My ceremony will be right there in the middle, close up here with me standing and pretending to be getting married lol: Soooo, fake flower curtain was our first choice but now I am having second thoughts about it. Anyother ideas? I want to keep it simple and cheap! Thanks 😀 Sorry for the gigantic pictures!

AnaA: I think your idea of a curtain is great- something to block out the background, or at least not have it so obvious. The challenge with a curtain is that the arch is easily 12 feet high and most silk flower curtains are only 6 feet tall. You could string a line horizontally at that height then hang the curtains from that, but it would also cut the shape of the beautiful arch in half.
Slik flower curtains are a DIY but you would need a massive amount, which would take a long time and require a huge amount of storage so they didn’t get all tangled up.
Alternatively, you could do something smaller that would be the focal point and would block out the background in pics taken at the right angle
a chalkboard backdrop
doors- with or without chiffon draping in the middle
decorate the arch with garlands
you could hang rope at various lengths- “tying the knot”
you could hang curtain or drape lights which would also be pretty at night- you can cut shapes of craft paper, or plastic- hearts, flowers , stars etc, cut an x shaped slit in them and push one over each lightbulb

I think lanterns could look really nice!<br />
Also, baby’s breath is a really beautiful and inexpensive way to incorporate live flowers into your space:

julies1949: wooow, thank you so much! The thing is that I can’t hang anything on the arch because it several feet away from where we’ll be standing. If you look closely the part in which I am standing is outside the area with roof.
Your ideas are amazing! Thanks!
chickspartan: You’re right! I had forgoten about baby’s breath! Thanks 😀

I woud consider a semi-circular row of potted tree branches. If you hurry you might still be able to get free prunings depending on where you live. Check Craigslist or post an ad of your own. Pot them up using plaster of paris or foam insulation to keep them securely upright in containers of your choice.
If you want, you can hot glue silk flowers on to the branches using your colors, the same way you do for manzanita centerpieces

is your wedding in the evening? because candles and lanterns would look amazing in that space.
