I am getting married in a hotel. Having the whole ballroom we are dividing the rooms for ceremony and reception.
My plan is to rent a backdrop for ceremony. After the ceremony everyone will go to hallway area for happy hour while the staff would open the walls, arrange and put the ceremony backdrop along a wall which then could be used all night as photo booth.
The room where ceremony was held will have high end tables, a big round lounge chair thingy and then the backdrop. The middle will be the dj and dance floor and the last room will be tables.
Does this plan sound okay? What other ceremony decor ideas do yous have?

Your plan sounds fine to me. I am sure the backdrop will be a great reminder of your wedding when the see their pics.
It’s great that you have the hallway for a cocktail hour as it will take some time for the staff to reset the room from the ceremony to the reception.
It’s hard to make ceremony decor suggestions when I don’t have any information about your color/theme etc.
Depending on the style of your backdrop, it might be nice to bring a focal point to the altar area. Lately I’m enamored with using birch poles vertically.

My cousin did something similar and it worked out nice, they had a partition between the ceremony space and dining area which was removed after the ceremony and set up the DJ booth. The way the got the guest to promptly leave the room and go to the lobby, is that they announced there would be a group shot taken. So the transition was smooth and the guests didn’t notice the staff making the changes to the room.

Julies- I love them however that is way off of my theme.
My colors consist of black, white and hot pink. My chair covers are white polyester with a black satin sash.
I was thinking about a backdrop with black satin drap but wondering if that will be too bold for the ceremony?

I think it’s a fine plan. You could do a black drape with some sort of hot pink splashes of color, like big paper flowers.

I wouldn’t do an all black draping- to me it would be kind of dreary for a wedding. I like something with some personality that makes it yours.
Given that you are using hot pink, I’m guessing you do do not have a shy, retiring personality.
Would you consider something like this? You can do this as a wall graphic that is peelable and re-useable, wallpaper, or photo on canvas.
You could make large paper flowers like this
With lighting and some furniture- I love this look.
You could do a ribbon wall. If you mix black, white and pink ribbon, I don’t think it would be overpowering.
