We are getting married, as of now, in a giant dark room nearby inside of a convention and trade center, it’s a room that screams awesome indoor reception (and budget). But my dream was always to get married outside, nearby there is an amphitheatre that I think is about $15 to rent, and there is an electrical outlet nearby. I got these pics online, which were taken at different parts of the season.
My problem is that I will be walking down the stairs. I’m wondering has anyone else had to do anything like that before or seen anyone?
Did it work? Or didn’t it work?
No one is giving me away, but my Fiance is meeting me halfway down the aisle to get me. Totally his wonderful idea. 🙂 I’m also planning on wearing a tea length, or short dress.

I think that sounds absolutely wonderful ! !

Seems do-able, and looks nice. You will have someone to hang on to, right?
ETA: I should try reading the whole post before I respond. Well, I guess it depends on how you feel walking in the dress & shoes. Still seems okay though.

That’s good to hear! I wanted to make sure no one had specifally seen someone FAIL hard at walking down some stairs as her entrance.

As long as you’re not too drunk and your shoes are too high and spikey, I think you’ll be fine. That’s a really prettyu area!

That’s a gorgeous setting, I would take the risk! 🙂 No, but seriously – I don’t think you have to worry. Especially as you’re not planning to wear a floor length dress. I’ll wear a tea length myself and I’m actually planning to walk to church 15 min away from where I’ll get ready.

I walked down stairs in a MASSIVE dress and I didn’t fall. But I was super nervous. Our ceremony had to be moved inside last minute so it wasn’t planned. Luckily, I got one practice run and it was okay.
Is there a railing at least?

At the wedding venue I worked at the ceremonies took place in a similar amphitheatre setup, but with stone steps. So I saw many, many brides go down the steps and there was never an issue. They all were escorted down the stairs by someone though, which may have made it slightly easier. But I still think you will be fine as long as you take it slow, especially since you are wearing a short dress and won’t have a long train dragging behind you. Just don’t wear too high of heels.

@KateByDesign: Yeah, a nasty bird fecies encrusted pole that will need cleansing. They also ended up overbooking the place, so I will not be living out my dream of marrying outside.
