Don’t stress out about it.  People should be fine with it as long as you give them some notice.  People have to change dates all the time.  Some people end up having to send out date change cards AFTER their invites becuse something happens and they have to change it.  Just be glad you havnt shelled out the money to the place.  400/night!! That is REDICULOUS!!!!  I agree that something is not right about that when you can book a room for ~100/night..

Yikes!  When you were negotiating, did they give a reason why the room prices were dramatically higher than normal?

Don’t worry about changing dates, there is still plenty of time and I’m sure when your guests hear the reason behind the change, they’ll be supportive of your decision.

$400/night…holy mark up Batman.

Can you ask them to give you the original price? Were they running an off-season promotion? Will they give you the lower price if you guarantee a certain number of rooms? I’m sure you’ve probably done all of this…

Do feel free to change dates. People will understand; I’m sure they don’t want to pay $430!
