@vintagegal: do you have pictures of the stage? What kind of “look” or “feel” are you going for?

Does the theater still have the capacity to project a picture on the screen?

If so, you could show a famous picture from the movies like this, or replicate a famous pose with you and your FI as the stars.

If the apron ( the part of the stage in front of the curtain) is wide enough, you could keep the curtains closed and hang your monogram in the center above head height.

I wasn’t suggesting you play a movie- just project a picture.

You could make a backdrop to look like the old wording screens from silent movies.

Build a standing wall, paint it with black paint, or black chalkboard paint, then use white paint or white chalk to replicate the old silent movie signs. You could pick a saying close to your hearts, a favorite quote from an old movie, or  a favorite love quote.

This is just an example to show the idea.

Or you could have someone with computer skills make the sign for you and project it  onto the theater screen.

Are you really having your ceremony at the Tivoli, Vintagegal?? I live in the area and had no idea that they rent out for weddings! Do you have any more information you could share?? I would really appreciate it!

My wedding is in an old theater on the stage as well… I was thinking about asking them to put trees from plays behind us in a half circle then were having an arbor that they are providing and were having mason jars with candles in them here and there on the sides of the arbor… Pretty basic but still beautiful and they might have the same things available for you at your theater?

I like the idea of trees and greenery, kind of like Mrs. Eggs Benedict had in her ceremony.

@pinkpaperbride: are there pictures of that somewhere? Is she a bee? I wanted to find pictures to show the theater manager so she knew what I was talking about… Our theme is midsummer nights dream/ forest.
