Our actual ceremony will be in a venue, not a religious place, so there will be no provided instruments. We’ll be having a DJ at the reception, but he’s not portable enough to go to the ceremony. What other options are there? There really isn’t space for someone live to sing or play anything.
If you’re in the same boat, what will you be doing? Or any suggestions?

We hired actually three different people to do music for our wedding lol! We had a acoustic guitarist for the ceremony, which was simple but gorgeous. A 2 person, traditional french canadian band during dinner, which was SO worth the money they were great!! And we hired a DJ for later in the night… he was late and had a bunch of other stupid problems but once he started working he was fine.

Usually a solo violinist, flutist or guitarist don’t need much space. You should ask the ceremony venue what’s been done in the past to give you some ideas.

I’m having a solo violinist at my ceremony. She will even play in the parking lot as guests are leaving to go to the reception.

We’re hiring a flute/string quartet to play the music. I played flute all through school and Fiance really wanted strings. It’s one of the things I’m most looking forward to!

Members of a symphony orchestra for the ceremony, jazz trio for cocktail hour, band for reception. Woo hoo!
