I’m really trying to find the perfect song for my best friend and bridesmaid to sing during our ceremony. I really like "Feels like Home" by Randy Newman, but it’s so long. What are we suppossed to do for 4 1/2 minutes? Maybe in the sentiment of the day it won’t seem strange to gaze at my FH while everyone else stares at us, but I think we would feel awkward for so long. Anyone with any ideas for shorter songs or something active we can do to fill the time?

I would recommend picking your favorite verse and using that… Also, there is a newer version of that by Chantal Kreviazuk that is AMAZING (I actually love it a little more than the original).
Other than that… oh I have no idea! What type of ceremony are you having? Church? Garden, beach????

We’re getting married outside in a meadow surrounded by mountains. For our ceremony prelude, processional, and recessional we’re having a violin, cello and viola play selections from Appalachia Waltz which uses classical instruments to play bluegrass style music. I’m excited about that but I don’t know what to use for a vocal selection. Thanks for suggesting the newer version, I like it also. However, it’s still a little long. If we’re not doing a unity candle what do we do while she sings? I just know I"ll be too self conscious of everyone looking at us just standing there. I would love to have her sing just after the guest are seated, but it would be too awkward to have her come back for the processional. An y suggestions?

I went a friend’s wedding and she had her friend sing "Feels Like Home" and it was beautiful…
