I'm also on the look out for this. It's on my to-do list for the next month or so. As soon as I find something I'll let you know. I would totally suggest looking through craigslist or local colleges and universities -- college kids are always looking for work!
Where's your wedding!? Looks like you're fairly new to WeddingBee welcome to the Boston board!
thanks! i'm getting married at the old state house in boston and reception at the prudential building skywalk. super excited!
i contacted berklee but for some reason most of the replies have been alumni instead of students. not sure why!
are you getting married downtown boston?
Oh we wanted to do the Old State House so badly but our wedding is too big!! That sounds like it's going to be great!
We are getting married (ceremony & reception) at the Seaport World Trade Center. We are using two different ballrooms -- one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Since ours is a winter wedding you never know what kind of weather you're going to get so it's nice that our guests will be in the same location the whole time!
Have you found many of your vendors yet?
oh how fun to have it at the wtc! how big is your wedding going to be?
we have most of our vendors...photog, dj, florist. working on invitations now and figuring out limo stuff. how far along are you in planning and booking?
Our invite list is at about 275 right now -- both big Irish Catholic families!! -- so we're hoping to have abuot 250 guests.
We have our photographers, DJ and stationary all set. We actually already sent out our save the dates (suuuper early but it's a holiday weekend around the holidays so we really wanted to have everyone prepared, and I wanted to check something off our list!)
Our big to do's are officiant (someone has to actually MARRY us!!) and a florist.
If you're looking for stationary person still please check out www.jsullivandesign.com seh is who we are using (and our save the dates are featured on her site!) and she was aboslutely amazing to work with and not too expensive as her business is fairly new.
Also back to the original question -- I did just do a search on theknot for boston ceremony musicians and a bunch came up, the might be one way for you to go.
Hi- my fiance is a classical musician finishing his Master's at the New England Conservatory. He's very professional (and very good!) and always up for wedding jobs. He's a violist and can play solo or can pull together a duo/trio/quartet if you'd like. Let me know if you are interested!
