I am having a catholic ceremony outside of mass. I received the ceremony helper book from the chapel where we’re getting married. The format is for the full mass and the secretary attached a post it that said “omit full mass components” Now I attend mass but I have only been to like 3 wedding ceremony’s w/o the full mass. What parts am I suppose to leave out?

The parts including the Eucharist and all that is involved in it.
The stuff that you leave in would be the readings, the homily, and the blessings at the end.

@beekiss2: Do I include the Prayers to the faithful?
12 years of Catholic school you think I’d know all about the mass by now, apparently I’m a bad little Catholic 🙂

@MrsPinkPeony: I’m pretty sure that would be left in.

Weird… my wedding was a ceremony without full Mass and they gave me a booklet specifically for the ceremony-only version. Basically, take out everything in the Liturgy of the Eucharist, including the Lords Prayer. You’ll keep the beginning stuff, the entire rite of marriage, the readings, the homily, and yes – the prayers of the faithful.
Hope that helps!

@MrsPinkPeony: the prayers of the faithful are left in – a friend of mine just had a no-mass catholic ceremony and @beekiss2: is right – you take out everything involving the eucharist, but everything else stays – almost as if the mass ends after the homily

This site (the official USCCB site) has the format for the Rite of Marriage without Mass

Thanks, Coffeehound! I needed something like that too. I might be making a program for the wedding ceremony.

Prayers of the faithful are in for the non-full mass version!
