If he is asking for a standard 8.5"x11" cover you could alternatively print them yourselves on your own home computer or at FedEx Kinko's. This way you can get exactly what you want and you may even save some money which is always nice. :)
If he's asking for you to choose from a specific store, he may not allow anything different. Our church will only allow us to use a sketch of the church on the front cover. No other images are allowed. I would check with him before you waste time designing something prohibited.

Do they not allow anything else? That seems really strict to me, I would clarify the situation and maybe explain that you had something esle im ming for your program. Maybe he's just trying to be helpful and assumes you wouldn't want anything else - I've noticed that with out older wedding coordinator, she tells us to do something but upon asking it's really only a suggestion.

Thank you for the suggestions! :) I was thinking of making the covers myself and having him print the rest of the program to save money, but at this point in all my do-it-yourself projects, I just don't want to begin another one! The reason for his restrictions on the size are that if it is a different size, I have to print it, rather than he getting it printed for us. So, it is really just laziness...I feel like buying instead of making! Has anybody else bought the program covers online? Am I going into uncharted territory?? Thanks again for the help!!

Our priest told us to buy covers for our ceremony programs from a religious book store in the area, but we didn't like any of the choices they had in store. He told us to get ones that are printed on regular 8.5"x11" paper that can be folded in half (to 5.5"x8.5") and then he will have the programs printed for us once we give him our covers. Has anybody bought program covers online? Can you recommend a website that has nice covers? Thank you in advance for any suggestions!!!! :)
