I'd like two readings at my ceremony, but I'm having a tough time coming up with a second reader. My initial thoughts were that I would read it to my groom! But I can't find any evidence that this sort of thing happens during typical ceremonies.
Is the Bride and Groom not supposed to move during the ceremony? Would it be just logistically bad for the bride to do the second reading?
i think you can do whatever you want...at the end of the day if you want to read it rather than try to scrounge and find someone else to do it i say go for it!
i dont think you'd have to move. you could simple hold the mic and stay in your place. that way you dont have to leave the groom during the ceremony which i imagine might feel strange....
So I forgot about this thread - but thanks to your comments and suggestions, we took turns reading "Love" at the wedding. It was a hit and it made many a people sniffle. The only thing was that I got pretty nervous right before the reading, but I swallowed and got through it without my voice shaking too much!
I also read "Love" during the ceremony. I almost didn't make it through because I almost bursted out into tears. My husband told me later that he almost started crying during it. I know alot of family members were tearing up too. So just go for it, its your wedding so make it your own and make it special for the two of you.

I think that it will be nice. You rarely hear the bride or groom speak outside of their vows in a wedding... :) I think that i will do it!
