So my officiant advised me not to have her at the rehearsal. She charges extra for it, and for whatever reason, she didn’t think it was necessary because our wedding party is small (only 2 GM, 3BM). I still feel like we need to rehearse though! So I’m having a rehearsal, just without our reverend present to just sorta run through everything.
Did any of you have a rehearsal without your officiant present? If so how did it go and do you wish you had them there?
Did you not have a rehearsal at all and if so how did that go?

tagging in! I’m in the same boat. Our officiant wants to charge $250 for the rehearsal. (Cost for wedding is $300)
we have a day of coordinator who I’m hoping will also be present at the rehearsal to help sort out the details so we don’t have to get the officiant… But I’m interested to see what other bees are doing!

Ok, that would “bother” me a bit as a first time Bride. I’d certainly want the run-thru and now what is what in regards to how the Officiant intends to run the Ceremony (what they expect as well)
How on earth will you know what is planned for your service otherwise ?
Mr TTR and I didn’t have any sort of Rehearsal for our Elopement to a Destination Wedding… but then again it was just the 2 of us on a Beach… and we were soooo enamoured by the L♥VE and getting married that as long as we got to exchange rings, and say I DO we didn’t really care a whole lot about the rest.
Mind you as just a two-some we also didn’t have any concerns about how things came together, looked, or what other people thought.
Hope this helps,
PS… If you aren’t going to get much in the way of Direction… you might want to buy a Wedding Etiquette Book, they lay out the Processional & Recessional portions for various types of Weddings / Religious Denominations (cause it can differ)
