We are having our wedding ceremony on the lake I grew up on. The gazebo (as shown) was built by my Dad, who passed away. I’m looking for some logistical ideas on where to stand, place the bridal party/bride groom. The post in the middle makes it difficult. Should we stand in front? Any ideas?

You could be off to one side and have the table to sign your license on the other. How big is your bridal party?

I would have the officiant stand under the gazebo, the bride and groom on the right side, the BM’s on the left.
You could also decorate the left side with a hanging flower screen.

Those are both good ideas. I’m worried it’s going ot look off center though, as it’s to the “right” side of the area in general. There are 5 on each side of us for a total of 10. Maybe we could stand on the left side, have the GM on the right and the table on the right under the gazebo. So we would be on the grassy area? Thanks for the ideas! I am open to any more!

Which direction will the sun be shining during your ceremony?

What about rotating the whole thing 90 degrees to the left. That way the sun is at your guests back (which is preferred). And you two and the officiant can be under the gazebo in semi shade and there’s no pole in the center from that direction (at least that’s how it looks in the picture). I can’t tell if that would work from the picture, but something to think about.
If you stick with this orientation I don’t have any great suggestions, besides to have you two and the officant right in front of the gazebo and have your party under the gazebo on either side.
Or, if you can get over the lopsidedness, just have all of you under the gazebo and cheat to one side or the other (probably to right due to sun).
