We hired an officiant, but he gave us a whole slew of ceremonies he had used for other ceremonies and we mish mashed them together to suit us. PM me your email address and I can send the file to you if you'd like! It might be a good starting point for you!
We looked up about a million different ceremonies, we picked a chose different parts that we wanted and put them together. DH did have to change some wording to more reflect us, but the general flow of most of the ceremonies was pretty standard. We did use Mrs Apples hand ceremony, it was the only thing that we really found that we just HAD to have.
We're having a friend do our ceremony too. He just wanted a feel for what we wanted so i emailed him this
and he's starting off with ... Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam. And wove, twue wove, wiww fowwow you fowevah and evah… So tweasuwe youw wove (from princess bride, FI's favorite movie of all time.)
@bakerella: Oh my gosh you're a life saver!! PM'ing you!
@tksjewelry: Thanks! I will have to look that up! We are looking for something like that too!
@HisIrishPrincess: haha oh my gosh that's awesome!
i looked up the typical outline of a ceremony and i found or wrote the various sections. our officiant sent some samples too but i wanted something a little different.
off the top of my head some of the various sections in no particular order: intro, vows, readings, declaration on intent, unity candle or other ceremonies, blessing of rings, pronouncement...
We took pieces of different ones and reworded some to make it ours. I'll be happy to send it to you if you want to read it.
@BoiledPNut: Tht would be great! I will PM you :)
I am struggling with this as well. I have a pretty good draft together now though, but it needs some tweeking. We are not religious at ALL so we chose more earthy readings and wording. Good luck!
@Candace From BC: Thank you! I've gotten lots of good options now so if you need any just PM me :)

Hey Bees! We are having a closefamily friend officiate our wedding and I was just wondering how we put our ceremony wording together? I know if you hire an officiant they usually have pre made wording youcan choose from and insert your own stuff here and there but how o you sit own and just write out your whole ceremony? I don't have any idea where to start or why to say! So any bees who had a family friend officiate, how did you put your ceremony together?
*also we are not religious, just fyi. Thanks!
