ceremony/reception in los angeles/santa monica?

posted 2 months ago in Los Angeles

Does anyone know ceremony/ reception sites in Santa Monica for about 100-150 people that is not expensive.  I would love to be married on the beach but not necessarily at a hotel, I would love something more original... but also not to remote (there will be people from out of town coming).

I would love any suggestions!

You might want to check out Culver Events on Washington Blvd. in Culver City/Mar Vista.  Another bride recommended it to me, and it's seems quite affordable compared to most LA venues.  I haven't seen the place, but the sales manager seems super easy to work with.  Good luck!

If you look a little further south there is a place called point vincente and you can rent the interpretive center which overlooks the ocean in Palos Verdes.  Not sure on cost, but I think you can bring your own caterer which ususally saves you a lot.

You can apply for an LA County beach permit for $150 (plus a % of vendor fees) and hold your ceremony/reception on the sand. There are also some under-the-radar hotels that are right on the beach (or walking distance from) that are not too expensive, if you look in the South Bay... such as the Beach House Hotel in Hermosa, the Portofino in Redondo, and Shade Hotel in Manhattan.

I was the one that threw out Culver event center, but just wanted to share the Portofino (LindaBliss beat me to it!) I am currently looking for a locale to host our annual Board Retreat and just spoke to someone from the Portofino. It's newly renovated and looks beautiful - right on the water.  The prices for events seem to be very competitive, and what's so great is that since they just renovated, they are very eager to create a package to accomodate to get people in there!  You might want to check it out:
