I am in the Boston area and we are having our ceremony and reception at the same place. However, chair rentals for the outside ceremony are not included. The manager of the country club needs to rent them for us at $3.50 each. Does that seem high?

That doesn't seem terribly high to me. I'm located in Texas and we're renting basic wooden folding chairs for our reception for $3.50 each.

That seems a little high-- but not much. I'm getting the white wooden folding chairs for $2/each in LA.

It definitely depends on the type of chair. When I was looking I did find a few sites that listed prices, so do search online. The cheap, plastic Samsonites were less than $2, the wooden chairs with seat pad run $2.25 to $2.75, and the fancy Chivari chair were $7-$8. Don't forget that if you go with an outside vendor you'll also have to pay a delivery fee.

Definitely depends on the type of chair. I rented chivari chairs for $5/each in LA.

I am getting natural wood folding chairs for $3.25 each in San Francisco. Its highway robbery in my opinion but it seems to be the going rate around here.

omg - I was quoted $10 per chair for Cabo "because they are rentals and the price includes labor." I think I am going to have to renegotiate.
