That's beautiful! it reminds me of another ring I saw on Etsy that I thought was lovely too: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58697006/champagne-peach-to-ice-blue-color-change
I think it looks great! I think sapphire is a great option, I have a blue sapphire e-ring.
Sapphire are a great durable stone. I've had a pink saphire & white gold ring that I wore daily and it holds up great. (This is coming from a girl that has snapped, broke, twisted and just found ways mess up necklaces, bracelets, rings and everything)
Oh my goodness that is my dream ring!! Seriously! I have been looking at morganite too but you're right a sapphire is much better, do you mind if I ask where you got the stone and setting from?
@MrsT2b: I am looking online after seeing this post and they have the champagne colored sapphire at the NaturalSapphireCompany.com - it is posted under the "unique" colored stones. You can do a search from there for specifically champagne colored stones.
I imagine that sapphire would look great, but morganite actually has a pinker hue than most things described as 'champagne'! Also, I said this in another thread--morganite is actually very hard and durable (I wore a morganite ring for months and put it through hell because I knew it was just a temp; I replaced it with a custom ring filled with Moissanite; has nothing to do with the morganite and just what I wanted my ring to look like), and if the morganite is much less expensive than a sapphire, I'd go for the morganite, as the hardness difference really isn't so significant. Just my two cents!
Sorry to hijack! But I have to ask...
Veganglam, you got your moissanite ring? I remember looooving your sapphire pear, but being super excited to see the custom one you were planning. Are you maybe gonna make a post about it? (hintnudgehint)
@Goodie: Hehe well I will as soon as I get my old computer back!! Yes, I did get it, and I LOVE it. It's awesome. But I broke my old laptop so I'm using a loan one and it has no port or whatever for inserting my camera card, and my camera didn't come with a cord to transfer photos...so when I get my laptop back, I will post! And try to get some really great photos of how pretty the Moissanite is! I can't believe I haven't actually taken anything other than a crappy camera phone photo of it yet. It was done back in August (which was during my break from Weddingbee, I think).
It's gorgeous and I love it! I've always been a fan of all things champagne colored and thought about a champagne diamond for awhile.
I love the champagne sapphires a lot. I really debated on getting one but in the end we went with a white sapphire. I think the champagne color is gorgeous though, it will look stunning!
I like the champagne color, very pretty!
I actually wanted a padparadscha sapphire before I chose my stone, because of the salmony color (similar to morganite). Love it!!
@Krises - Oh dear you've introduced me to the NaturalSapphireCompany.com!! I've literally spent hours on there!! The settings are beautiful!
OMG, it's gorgeous!!! I go gaga over cushion cuts, they are my fave! And I adore that setting!
Being a gemstone lover myself, and an addict for custom jewelery: the cuts of the stone looks perfect for the setting, the champagne color is beautiful are using yellow gold?

Do you think this stone is a good stone to put into this ring? I was originally thinking of morganite, but a small stone seems to be hard to come by in this variety of gem, and the hardness of it (7.5-8, on mohs scale) seems to scare me a bit. So I found a nice sapphire gem that replicates the color of the morganite. What do you think?
