(Closed) champagne on tables?

We are also having a buffet. I wanted to have the champagne on the tables, but our venue doesn’t allow us to have any alchohol on the tables, unless the person is drinking it. I think you should check with your venue before you get attached to one way or the other.

I would go for service.  I’m doing it with the wine at our wedding, as so much gets wasted when it’s just dropped on a table.  Often if you go that way, the venue only has to open a few bottles at a time, and opens more as glasses get filled, rather than having every bottle opened and only partially used on the tables.

You are very welcome. Also, having your guests have to go to the bar to get their drinks will cut down on your bar bill. People tend to drink less if they have to get it themselves.
