We definitely can’t afford an open bar, and most of our friends are not heavy drinkers anyway. However, we are planning on offering a nonalcoholic punch, a champagne punch, bottled water, and Crystal Light.
The nonalcoholic punch will be nojitoes (nonalcoholic mojitoes), made from the Stirrings mojito mix. My FI and I love it–we’ve been “testing” it by drinking it every day recently.
However, we’re still looking for ideas for a champagne punch. We don’t want something really sweet. At the same time, I’m a little concerned about doing a citrus-based punch, given that the nonjitoes are also citrus-based. I thought of Mimosas, but my FI doesn’t think plain old orange juice is festive enough.
Any ideas on great-tasting champagne punches?

i just had a fantastic champagne cocktail yday – muddled strawberries with champagne and ice cubes. i also saw a white sangria on a menu made from champagne, fresh fruit and rosemary. didn’t get to taste that but it sure sounded yummy and refreshing.

I have a friend who makes champagne punch for all of her Christmas parties. It’s so good. It’s on the really cheesy recipes with Sprite and brandy and an ice ring. I love it! I’ll try to find it and share. Makes me want to make some today…that would be weird. 😉

I actually don’t think it would be too weird to have a citrus based punch as guests will likely be drinking either one or the other anyway

I really love champagne with a little chambord, then either pineapple juice or pomegranate juice. It’s yum!
