Oh no! I was going to recommend a prosecco from Costco/Whole Foods (seen it both places), maybe it's available elsewhere?
This is the label:
Oh, and it's $9 a bottle here.
That is the price range I am looking for!
Silly PA and their antiquated alcohol policies...
Aww. Well if you can't find it, I don't know if they make sparking moscatos, but that's what I'd pick if there was a cheap one available. Cheap dessert wine doesn't have a major risk of tasting bad like other cheap wines can, thank goodness :)
is moscato a type of sparkling wine? I'm kinda clueless when it comes to this stuff!
Moscato is a sweet wine. I think a good sparkling wine is Asti Italian sparkling wine. I think they have it at Trader Joe's for $7 or $9 a bottle. It tastes so good too!
I just saw my sister bought a moscato spumante that Andre makes!! Mmmmm!! Spumante is my fave, add MOSCATO ontop of that! OMG! I can't wait for my bridal shower!
It's most likely available at any wal mart or food lion
Thanks, ladies! I will check out all of these at on my next weekly visit to the liquor store :)
We just used Verdi spumante. It's like $4 a bottle and delicious. A lot of people don't like the taste of champagne, so it's silly to spend a ton of money just for the toast when it's likely many people won't even drink the whole glass. Going with a cheap spumante or moscato is a great way to go because it is still usually delicious.
If you're offering champagne as a drink to order, though, it is probably best to offer something nicer.
We bought Andre Spumante for $4.50 a bottle at Food Lion. It is really nice - I couldn't tell the difference between that and Martini & Rossi at $14 a bottle!
As a proud half French woman I love Champagne. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I drink champagne as it was wine. People always ask me what I am celebrating when I buy a case at the store.... I am really just stocking up.... my god this makes me sound like a drunken lush but I think the point is made.
For as many champagnes and sparklings that I have tasted there is one that I buy all the time to just open when I feel like having a glass. Domaine Ste. Michelle. It is a sparkling made in Washington. http://www.domaine-ste-michelle.com/ If you have a Trader Joe's it is $6.99 a bottle. It is absolutely delicious!

Well I'm almost done buying all of the alcohol for our wedding... but I'm kinda stuck on the Champagne/Sparkling Wine I should buy for the Champagne toast! I need around 20 bottles I think.
Does anyone have any *budget friendly* suggestions? I wish I could just go to Costco or Trader Joe's... but unfortunately PA is still in the dark ages when it comes to wine/liquor, and therefore, I can only buy this stuff at a state controlled store. Boo. So any recommendations?
