got a pic of the dress?
You can wear whatever you want! I think chamange can be really beautiful. OMG in satin, gorgeous! But if you don't want to raise a few eyebrows, i would make sure the dress definitely says "wedding"
superstar,
When I went to my recent fitting, there was another gown hanging in the room I was in and it was by Vera Wang. Your post really reminded me of it and it was a champagne color on a silk or satin type material.
This type of dress is out there, and I'm sure it doesn't have to be Vera Wang. I thought it looked beautiful!
Although i havent even started shopping for a dress yet, I've decided on a champagne color. I think ivory is more on the white side.. that's just my opinion. I do beleive champagne color looks beautiful and makes it a bit romatic.
my dress is champagne! it was most flattering with my fair/olive-toned skin, and it still looks quite white in pictures. I like that the champagne is just a bit softer than a bright white.
My dress is also champagne! It's a champagne satin with ivory overlace- what tone is your skin? Champagne can be sooo flattering on the right skin tone!!
totally agree with babesilvia- champagne adds the romance factor to the dress!
my dress color is called "spun gold" - it's darker than champange but looked great on me. I lurve it! Go for it!
My dress color is called Antique Ivory - but that is a boring name, so I tell everyone it is Champagne - because that is what it looks like to me. I have paler skin with rosy undertones, freckles, and dark hair - and I think it looks fabulous on me. :) Anything whiter and it would compete with my skin. The bridal shop owner told me that to the guests - it looks like a white dress because I'm the only one in the room dressed as a bride - so don't worry, it will still look bridey. Only, champagne will photograph so much better than white. Oh, and I was told that silk is never "white" - so if a dress is pure white, it must be a synthetic material and not silk. Oh, my champagne dress is taffeta - nice and light for an outdoor summer wedding.
I'm wearing one! Well, it it's considered "light gold" which may or may not be the color you are considering but it is the color of a glass of champagne. Here it is... select "alternate view" to see it in my color.
Good luck!!!
